[ Applicants Guide ]

If you have left or are about to leave full time education and you’re wondering what your next move should be, an apprenticeship could be your first step onto an exciting new career path.

As an ATA apprentice, we support you every step of the way from applying for one of our vacancies, through the interview process with the host company, and throughout the training. Before being interviewed by the host company we will meet with you to discuss your suitability for the role and offer you interview guidance.

You will be employed by us but you won’t work with us day-to-day, you’ll be with a host company who will provide you with specific one to one training and industry guidance, to ensure you achieve the qualification and gain the most out of the experience.

Apprenticeships provide individuals aged 16-24 the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications and practical experience working in a sector they’re passionate about. Check here to see if you’re eligible for an apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you’ll earn a salary, gain real work experience and be entitled to annual holiday pay and other benefits just like any other employee. At the same time, you’ll be working toward a qualification which is nationally-recognised and gain ‘hands on’ practical experience of the work place; which is not only important to employers, but will set your CV apart from that of further education graduates.

There are many progression opportunities after an apprenticeship. You might consider doing an advanced or higher apprenticeship, moving onto higher education or gain continued employment with your host company or through the industry contacts you made along the way. Either way, you’ll feel more empowered to make those decisions with the life skills you gained through the apprenticeship.

Importantly, the number of industries now employing apprentices has widened considerably in recent years, so you might be surprised by the variety and scope of apprenticeships out there. View our current vacancies here!
